Amongst other artsy things that I fill my life with, I also write. However, I'm having a weird kind of writer's block at the moment. It's not that I can't find ideas or what not, but I rather feel like my vocabulary and linguistic expressions are failing to express all the things I have in my mind.
The other day I was desperately looking for a copy of my favourite novel translated into English, as the original language is Romanian (my mother-tongue) and a non-Romanian friend of mine was interested in giving it a read. Needless to say, I couldn't find it anywhere, so I thought, since I anyway adore that novel, why don't I try translating it? I would be very good practice for me, because I do my own writing in English and translating sophisticated Romanian into English would help me improve my linguistic expression for my own work.
If I were to translate one chapter at a time and post it in here, would you be interested in reading? Would you be interested in discovering other works by Romanian authors as well, such as short stories, poems, etc? I really want to embark in this translating adventure and I thought it would be fun to share it with other people as well, if you were interested to read this stuff, some of which is really special and beautiful. Obviously, I would only go to the trouble of translating works that I truly love.
Let me know what you think and if I should start posting in here translations of beautiful Romanian writings!
